Allan passed away on April 2nd after just one week in hospital. He told his friend, Ken Birbeck, that he was not sure if he would be able to attend this year’s OGA reunion because his health was not satisfactory, but he had always attended past reunions. His home with his wife, Nina, was in Churt, Surrey.
In the old OGA guestbook 2008 on-line Allan wrote:
“I spent most of my working life in horticultural sales, starting with Wither’s the Corn Merchants in Godalming, Rose & Sons, Farnham and ending as a Sales Adviser in the Amenity Horticultural world. Retired in 2000, I now work as a volunteer at the Rural Life Centre in Tilford near Farnham where the GCGS Holloway Hill Cricket Pavillion has been restored and rebuilt.”
