Victor John May – Oral History of the Second World War
Victor May served with 17th (Holding) Battalion, King’s Shropshire Light Infantry and 7th Battalion King’s Shropshire Light Infantry in GB, 2/1940-11/1942; served with 2/1st (Nyasaland) Battalion King’s African Rifles in Kenya and Italian Somaliland, 3/1943-1/1945; served as an intelligence officer with 22nd (East African) Brigade, XV Corps in Burma, 2/1945-8/1945.
Mr May subsequently became a teacher of mathematics at Godalming Grammar School from 1947 to 1979.
